Painters and illustrators put effort (and a lot of time) in their works - and sometimes, after 10, 20 or 400 notes, there’s no trace of them anymore: click-through links exchanged with other tumblogs url, names and titles removed… That’s just like stealing.

If you don’t like the way the credits look like on your blog, you can always try a theme which shows them only in the permalink.

Also note that if you keep the credits, but remove the name of the blog that posted the picture, it will look like you posted it, and this is an useless, rude cheap trick.
